An Indiana-rooted history

In June of 1915, the Shook family opened the doors to The Shook Agency in Lafayette, Indiana. The Shook Agency continues to serve Northcentral Indiana, guided by the core principles and unified vision established by its founders.

In 2001, Jim Shook, Jr. continued his family’s legacy and opened a brokerage firm in Indianapolis that later evolved to become Shook Realty Group. SRG is a boutique real estate firm with an emphasis on brokerage, investments, asset management and consulting. The SRG team advises on a variety of transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, equity formation, and debt relating to investment and development of commercial real estate.

Meet the Team

Jim Shook


Shook Realty Group was established in 2001 by Jim Shook who continues to lead the firm and lend experience from across the real estate spectrum. Having started his career in 1982 as a Chicago office broker, he returned to Lafayette, Indiana and the family business in 1988. Jim now oversees Shook Realty Group’s brokerage business, property management services, investments and business development. During his long tenure in the Indiana real estate market, Jim has done significant work in leasing, investment properties, land sales, and land development. He also has extensive experience in the capital markets, with both equity formation and complicated debt structures.

Shook Realty Group isn’t just a career for Jim, it’s a lifestyle. He dedicates a majority of his energy to his business, but he has always devoted much time to community endeavors. Jim has served three banks as a director, is a past Trustee and former Vice-Chairman of the Indiana Historical Society, recently joined the board of the Hoosier Salon, is the current Chairman of the Camping & Education Foundation and formerly served as a White River State Park Commissioner in the Park’s formative days. When time allows, he enjoys spending time with his family, fly fishing, golfing and sailing, preferably in Northern Michigan or Southwest Florida!

Creighton Shook


With over nine years of experience as a broker, Creighton Shook is experienced in all facets of commercial real estate and servicing those relationships. Throughout his time at Shook Realty Group, Creighton continues to identify and execute on creative solutions that ultimately bring value to his clients.

To feed into his professional passions, Creighton serves in multiple organizations, as a board member of the Indy Chamber Ambassadors and a member of The Penrod Society, Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors and International Council of Shopping Centers. Outside of work, you can find him racing triathlons, playing golf, hiking and doing anything active.

Rob Coombes


After graduating Indiana University with a focus in business and legal studies, it was a natural progression for Rob Coombes to develop a passion for commercial real estate. Rob has been a broker with Shook Realty Group since 2017. Utilizing his background in Finance and Business Management, commercial real estate grew into a lifestyle focused on hard work and building relationships. In addition to embracing the broker role, Rob also works with many of his clients in an advisory capacity, which results in him working primarily with business owners of multi-faceted companies – finding effective approaches to all parts of their business. When not working, Rob enjoys being social, spending time with family and friends.

Stephanie Freeman

Vice President Property Management

Having served Shook Realty Group for over 20 years, Stephanie Freeman has earned a stellar reputation for her professional management skills. She currently manages the company’s retail and office properties. As the VP of Property Management and with her extreme versatility, Stephanie handles everything from managing tenants and vendors, to managing capital expenses and tenant improvements, to managing debt service and escrow accounts associated with owner-owned properties. Values that drive Stephanie are faith, loyalty, and work ethic. She enjoys hiking, canoeing, workshop projects, music & books, and exploring local coffee shops. She currently serves on the board of directors for Ouibache Music Festival in Lafayette, IN. The festival is a roots music event that strives to support its community by contributing to the local arts.

Christen Dittmer


Christen was born and raised in West Lafayette, Indiana. She is a proud Purdue University alumni who holds a bachelors degree from the School of Technology. Christen is a business leader with a demonstrated history of leadership working in the retail industry for over 20 years. She brings a strong business development background professionally skilled in customer service, retail management, multi-unit field leadership, talent acquisition, driving sales and performance management experience. Christen spent the last several years working with a seasoned commercial real estate developer supporting their portfolio. Most recently her experience extended to a concentrated online gaming industry focus as a senior executive officer with USVI Technology Holdings. She has demonstrated success in driving results, developing productive cross functional relationships, creating and delivering brand strategies, building and leading high performing sales teams, and creating a customer first culture. Christen enjoys a culture that embraces collaborative, critical thinking, analytical skill and forwardthinking strategies. She values meaningful partnerships that motivate and inspire to deliver top and bottom line results while achieving goals. Christen enjoys her work with a full life balance. She always enjoys time with friends and family and is always up for outdoor activities, sporting events, live music, and new experiences with friends. Christen is committed to enthusiastically deliver long term success as your Broker.

Luke Hall

Administrative Assistant

Luke is a graduate of Kelly School of Business at IUPUI, where he received his bachelor's degree in Marketing. He spent two semesters on the philanthropy board at Delta Sigma Phi at IUPUI and also served as a volunteer for "Kelley Indianapolis Cares" for four years. He joined the Real Estate Club his freshman year and then served as a board member until graduation. Using skills gained from Kelly, a management position, and service-related positions, Luke now works for our team by assisting our VP of Property Management. He ensures our administrative operations are streamlined from day to day by managing tenant work orders, tenant insurance compliance, A/P entry, and tenant gross sales. All administrative aspects are tended to efficiently and with excellence. He also is our showing agent for the townhome units we currently manage. Outside of work, you can find Luke spending time with family and friends, traveling, mountain biking, and playing golf.
